For centuries, Black people have been the pillars of food culture worldwide. Black people, especially Black women, have created their own platforms to curate their own food content and to showcase their expertise while often being ignored by mainstream media. Whether they are chefs, food writers, restaurant owners, or foodies, Black women around the world are having kitchen chats and wine convos that are fostering community and solidarity in ways we haven’t seen before. How, you ask? Podcasts.
With only 22 percent of podcasters being women and even fewer being Black women, podcasting faces the same struggles with diversity as mainstream food media. However, Black women food podcasters are challenging norms and breaking barriers in food media, all while serving #BlackGirlMagic as the main ingredient.
We created this list to spotlight Black women podcasters in the food and beverage space. Did we miss your favorite one? Add them in the comments so we can keep the community growing!
